Area students are served by the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation. Separated into five attendance districts, there are 20 elementary schools, 11 middle schools, five high schools and three alternative schools within the system. Additionally, there are numerous parochial schools, two charter schools and one private school. Higher education in Evansville is provided by the University of Southern Indiana, Ivy Tech Community College, Harrison College, and the University of Evansville.
